I sincerely hope that you will enjoy reading these research studies and share our journals with your colleagues and students. You may want to ask your school library to include our journal in your digital library for your students access since our journal is open to the public and free for subscription. It is a great recourse for IT students. If you need hard copies for your university library, you can contact me (in US) or Dr. Yun Mo (outside US) so that we can send you the hard copies when the new issue is published. At the same time, you are very welcome to submit your finished research paper to our own journal. Call for Papers - International Council for Educational Media Conference 2013

Authors are invited to submit abstracts and participate in the 63rd International Council for Educational Media (ICEM) Conference that will be held in Singapore from 1 – 4 October 2013.
The late 1990s saw the emergence of e-Learning. Many schools and institutions have embarked on campus-wide initiatives that comprised content-driven and technology-enhanced pedagogy until the advent of Web 2.0. Now, however, the educational model is undergoing a complete change of approach and both the blended learning model and participative learning have become more possible and meaningful, especially when combined with the changing profile of Gen Y students.
The conference theme ‘we-Learning: Content, Community and Collaboration’ recognises these pervasive and rapid changes that are having a profound impact on education and society. Education at all levels plays a central role in shaping the way these changes affect the economy, society and a new generation of knowledge workers. Knowledge and content are now a touch away and the new classroom has no physical boundaries. People and resources are linked across borders allowing for new types of collaboration. What does this mean for learning and teaching in tertiary education? This conference explores the paradigm shift from e-Learning to we-Learning, and the broad consequences for education in a changing world.

Research opportunity for students
As new director of the Martin-Springer Institute, I hope you can help spread the word regarding a research project that might interest your students. The attached flyer details our search for motivated students to actively and collaboratively participate in researching, planning and designing a travel exhibit on the history of the Bedzin ghetto in Poland.
The Martin-Springer Institute is seeking up to 10 interested students (advanced undergrad and grad) from different disciplines to start working in the spring as a Independent Study, supervised by Martin Kalb (HISTORY) and myself.
Of this group, we will choose 4 students who will receive a stipend to work on this project in the summer for 2-weeks at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC.
Please help to disseminate the information among your students and colleagues.
We prefer nominations by faculty, but students can also self-nominate by contacting me directly.

Goals
This panel discussion is a collaborative session that provides a forum for graduate students from all over the world to share their research and practices in emerging technologies.
Up to six panelists will be selected. Each student would have 8-10 minutes to present their current research or practices on the annual emerging technology theme.
An ICEM-USA professional member will facilitate this panel discussion while ICEM-USA professional members will serve as commentators at the end of the discussions to support graduate students panelists to continue and improving their professional growth in the theme topics.
Theme for 2011: Gamification/Badge-Based Learning
Any topics on gamification.
The topics can be research based, practices, technology demonstration, case study etc.
